Let experts debate science of global warming | coloradoan.com | The Coloradoan, It didn't take long for J.K. Peterson (Soapbox, Nov. 18) to attack William Gray, Ph.D., about his beliefs on global warming. Where’s the Love?

My pal and colleague, Jay Sorgen received some interesting feedback on his last article about hatred towards the sports rivals. Why do we hate? Is it from pure dislike of the rival fans? Or is it because of winning? Winning does fuel hatred! Why do fans across the country hate the Yankees or Mets? Or every the New York sports teams for that matter? Do rival New Yorkers hate one another so much just because we cheer for the opposing squad? I really don’t understand it? Where’s the adore? I be

“Several Miracles” Needed to Fix MTA’s Crisis

Manhattan B.P. Scott Stringer (not pictured) and transit advocates came to the MTA board meeting with 4,000 signatures urging investment in transit. Regional Plan Association's Neysa Pranger looks on. The grim tone of today’s MTA Board meeting was set with opening remarks by Board Chairman Dale Hemmerdinger who said solving the transit system’s financial crisis requires “several miracles.” A doomsday proclamation is not far-fetched. Paterson For DiNapoli

Gov. David Paterson will headline a fundraiser next month for state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, who, like the governor, inherited the statewide office he now holds and will be making his first formal run to keep in in 2010. After taking over in the wake of Alan Hevesi's Chauffeurgate scandal and big battle between the Legislature and then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer, DiNapoli chose to focus on improving the reputation of the comptroller's office rather than politics. (At one point, he was even sending

Indecision reunite again @ Irving Plaza

I have a soft spot as well as a raging boner for this band.  I’ve seen this band play so many times, but never on a stage this big. Definitely not in NYC. They played this past Sunday along with Nassau Chainsaw (awful),  Overcast (eh) and V.O.D. (Fuck you, I like them). Indecision has been in the habit of playing a show or two a year in recent memory. This provides every new know nothing hardcore kid as well as every overweight older hardcore kid the opportunity to punch people in the face to

Inside the MTA Budget: Long Island Bus

Like the other MTA agencies, Long Island Bus is facing deep service cuts and steep fare increases.
